Raleigh, NC - On Monday, November 7th, 2005, National Jobs Partnership, an organization started in 1996 to fight the growing problems of poverty and unemployment joined 300 political, corporate, and faith leaders in Raleigh, NC to announce its transition to Jobs for Life and introduce its highly effective approach to breaking the cycle poverty and unemployment in our country. Together they celebrated Jobs for Life’s capacity to impact and transform a community by "Building Lives, One Job at a Time.”
The event included a press conference, VIP reception, and dinner, featuring keynote speakers, North Carolina Senator Fred Smith, CNN Correspondent Valerie Morris, and Steve Stefano, Senior Vice President of GlaxoSmithKline. Event sponsors included Bank of America, CC Mangum Company, GlaxoSmithKline, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Lord Corporation, CVS/pharmacy, American Institute for Full Employment and a host of other companies and individuals.
